Teruo Goma, 93, of Honokaa died March 2 at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born in Waimea, he served in the U.S. Army’s 100th Battalion and retired as the business proprietor of Uptown Barber Shop in Honokaa. Friends may call 3 p.m. March 24 at Honokaa Hongwanji; service at 4 p.m. No flowers. Survived by wife, Hayame Goma of Honokaa; sons, Raymond Goma of Honokaa, Michael (Barbara) Goma of California; daughter, Elaine Goma of Honolulu; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Toshiaki “Toshi” Kawasaki, 79, of Hilo died March 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kohala, he was a retired elementary school teacher for Hilo Union School, member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Y’s Men & Women International Service Club, and the Ainako Association.
